TRANSCRIPT:
Hello. I’m Sandy Briggs, TESOL President. In my December podcast I told you that registration for TESOL 2008 had opened. This month I am reminding you that early registration ends on March 3, 2008. If you are planning to attend this convention in New York City, but you haven’t registered, you should do so before that date. I should also point out that the official TESOL hotel block closes on February 29, 2008.
I also want to highlight a few events that I didn’t mention in my earlier podcast, but which you should be sure to attend. There will be three special evening forums from 7:00 pm - 9:45 pm. On Wednesday evening it will be a peace forum. On Thursday evening it will be a special education forum. On Friday evening it will be a business forum.
Something else new this year will be the early bird and night owl sessions for those of you who get up early enough to go to sessions even before the 7:30 am interest section discussion sessions or who are still looking for more sessions after 8:00 pm in the evenings.
And be sure not to miss a very special performance and talk by renowned Jazz pianist, Toshiko Akiyoshi at 8 pm following the opening plenary on Wednesday evening.
If you have looked over the advance program that was sent to you in November and which is also online on the TESOL Web site under “Conventions,” then you know that there will plenty to do every moment of the time that you are at the convention.
Good-bye until next month.
