RAI #1 Revise SR X.2.M Research Committee 

  • This RAI was tabled and referred back to Operations Committee for clarification of II.G then to be reviewed by the Executive Committee in June.

RAI #2 Revise SR 111.1 Classes of Membership

  • Rita Gainer to update Standing Rules on Web site and update language on appropriate web pages.

RAI #3 Revise SR X.2. General Provisions for Standing Committees

  • Rita Gainer to update SR on Web site.
  • Staff  liaisons to send revised SRs to their committee chairs to begin work on aligning their committees to the SR and its new definitions.

Task Force to Study Membership Benefits for Underserved Countries

  • The President will send the report to the Membership Committee for review and feedback. If appropriate further action would be reviewed by the Executive Committee.

RAI#4 TESOL Investment Policy Statement and Procedures Amendment

  • Jim Trope will amend the TESOL Investment Policy Statement and Procedures to reflect approved changes. 

RAI#5 2012 Convention Program Chair

  • Christine Coombe will inform Mashael Al-Hamly of her appointment as the 2012 Convention Program Chair.
  • As the new president-elect, Christine will send a thank you letter to each of the other CPC applicants.
  • Diane Carter, 2010–2011 Chair of the Convention Committee, will contact Mashael Al-Hamly to discuss Convention Committee activities.
  • Lisa Dyson will provide Mashael Al-Hamly with the updated TESOL Annual Convention Manual and related materials.

Strategic Plan

  •  Pam Williams will prepare notes from the Strategic Plan discussion for review by the Executive Committee.

RAI#8 Position Statement on Language and Literacy Development for Young English Language Learners (Brisk)

  • John Segota will post the updated position statement on TESOL’s Web site, announce in TESOL Connections, and disseminate to all IS and affiliate leaders.
  • John Segota will issue a press release to appropriate media outlets and colleague associations.

  • John Segota will post the updated position statement on TESOL’s Web site, announce in TESOL Connections, and disseminate to all IS and affiliate leaders.

 RAI#10 Position Statement on Language Acquisition in Post-Secondary Education (Panferov)

  •  This RAI was tabled for further discussion at the June Executive Committee meeting. 

Identity Issues

  •  The President will provide a timeline and strategy for acquiring a name modification for the October Board meeting.
