Charge
The Serial Publications Committee ensures that all of TESOL's serial publications maintain the highest professional standards and meet the needs of their readers.
Activities
The committee establishes the mission for each serial publication and represents these missions to the publications' respective editors. It maintains oversight of the professional content of the serial publications. Committee members establish and maintain procedures and materials for the evaluation of editors' editorial work and publication management. They also establish, maintain, and refine procedures for editorial searches.
Responsibilities
Committee members are expected to attend the annual convention and participate in all committee sessions. Members must also participate in regular conference calls that deal with timely matters related to publications review and editor searches. Members also undertake specific assignments to write or gather documents pertaining to the evaluation of publications or to editor searches.
Qualifications
Committee members should represent various program levels in the field and be knowledgeable about TESOL serial publications and other professional journals in the field. Prior experience as an editor, a member of an editorial advisory board, or a contributor to a professional journal is preferred but not required.
