Who's Eligible
Any TESOL member who is a classroom teacher, teacher trainer, or teacher supervisor.
Purpose
To support teachers who wish to attend a TESOL convention, academy, or symposium.
The Ruth Crymes Fellowship Fund was established in memory of TESOL President (1979-1980) and
TESOL Quarterly Editor Ruth Crymes, who was killed in an airplane crash en route to the 1979 MEXTESOL Conference.
Amount
Two fellowships in the amount of US$500, to be used toward registration, room, board, and travel expenses.
Criteria
Selections are made on the basis of
- your reasons for wishing to attend a TESOL event
- ways that attendance will enhance your workplace performance
- your willingness to participate on behalf of TESOL, an affiliate, or other similar professional organization
- your professional goals and experience
To Apply
- Submit a statement of 800 words or fewer addressing
- your reasons for wishing to attend a TESOL event

- Submit one letter of recommendation written by a professional who can describe (a) your work and (b) your professional activities. Letters of recommendation cannot be submitted during the online application process.

Note: Mailed letters of recommendation must be sealed by the author of the letter. Emailed letters of recommenation must be sent directly to TESOL from the author of the letter.
