Whereas TESOL represents the cumulative expertise of the practitioners directly responsible for the education of limited-English-proficient and nonstandard-English-speaking students;
Be it Therefore Resolved that the President and Executive Secretary of TESOL make every effort to meet with the Secretary of Education and other officials responsible for the public funding of education to develop and maintain a consultative and advisory relationship to enable TESOL to have direct input into educational matters which have effect on limited-English-proficient and nonstandard-English-speaking students, and
Be it Further Resolved that any such contract include input and representation from the special interest groups which are directly affected by such issues.
