TESOL Member Resolution on U.S. Visa Issues for International Students and Educators (2005)

Whereas, International students and educators have faced numerous difficulties in their respective countries during the last year when attempting to come to the United States to study, and

Whereas, TESOL believes that each applicant who desires to come to study at U.S. schools, universities, and professional conferences is deserving of being treated with dignity and fairness by any representative of the U.S. government, therefore be it

Resolved, That TESOL work to influence U.S. policy makers and those who implement the policies:

  • to enact measures to ensure all international students and educators be treated with respect and dignity, and
  • to facilitate their opportunities to study in the U.S.
