TESOL is always working to improve English language teaching worldwide, and the creation of teaching and learning standards is an integral part of that goal. TESOL standards and best practices initiatives respond to a very real need of English language teachers, and comprise projects in various states of completion.   • Standards for Short-Term TEFL/TESL Certificate Programs
    The TESOL standards for Short-Term TEFL/TESL Certificate Programs are intended for courses of study delivered in English, ranging between 120–180 interactive hours that prepare candidates to teach English as a new language.

  • TESOL's PreK–12 English Language Proficiency Standards represent a starting point for developing effective and equitable education for ESOL students.
