About the Presenters
Donna Price is associate professor of ESL in the San Diego Community College Continuing Education Program. She presents at conferences on integrating workplace skills in ESL classes and transitioning students to academic and workforce programs. In 2010 she co-authored the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) module,
Integrated and Contextualized Workforce Skills in the ESL Classroom. Donna currently teaches vocational English as a second language for personal care assistants using the integrated basic education and skills training model. The program was awarded a CASAS 2009–2010 Promising Practice Award for implementing strategies and practices to help students attain their goals and promote effective student transitions.
Ronna Magy has three decades of experience as an ESL teacher, trainer, curriculum developer, staff development specialist, presenter, and author. She is retired from the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she was in charge of ESL staff development at the Division of Adult and Career Education. Ronna presents at conferences on integrating workplace skills in ESL classes, transitioning students to academic and workforce programs, persistence, goal setting, and problem solving. In 2010 she co-authored the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) module,
Integrated and Contextualized Workforce Skills in the ESL Classroom. Ronna is the author of
Future Multilevel Communicative Activities Books 3, 4, and
5 and national consultant on Future: English for Results from Pearson.
