TESOL Symposiums and Academies help TESOL professionals deepen their knowledge and sharpen their skills in a university setting. Presented by thought leaders in the field of English language teaching and learning, Symposiums and Academies get you out of your office and out of your classroom and into a learning context with your peers, where you can find new and better ways to serve your students.
Academies
The TESOL Academy provides intensive, hands-on workshops for a wide variety of TESOL practitioners. The Academy features six 10-hour workshops focused on key issues and areas of practice in the profession, from teaching a multilevel class and literacy development in content areas to reading comprehension and writing instruction for ELLs.
The Academy starts at noon on Friday and runs through Saturday afternoon and is held on a university campus, a perfect setting for peer-to-peer learning on a topic highly relevant to your needs.
Registration
Register online to guarantee your first workshop selection. Each workshop is limited to the first 35 participants and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees include materials, refreshments, certificates of attendance, and the opportunity to earn continuing education credit.

Ruth Crymes Academy Fellowships
TESOL offers fellowships to support teachers who wish to attend a TESOL Academy, TESOL Symposium, or TESOL Convention. The Ruth Crymes Fellowship Fund was established in memory of TESOL President (1979-1980) and TESOL Quarterly Editor Ruth Crymes, who was killed in an airplane crash en route to the 1979 MEXTESOL Conference in Mexico.
