ICIS E-Newsletter Mission Statement

  • Purpose and Audience
    The ICIS Newsletter intends to promote intercultural understanding in particular environments such as education and business, to support research in intercultural communication, to recommend specific methodologies for teaching intercultural communication, and to promote cross-cultural classes/courses in curricula.

    Vision
    The ICIS Newsletter shall

    1. promote the publication of articles on intercultural communication
    2. publish articles related to the development of ESOL materials in intercultural communication
    3. advocate in our publications for the adoption of coursework in intercultural communication as a required component of MA TESL/TEFL programs
    4. promote the annual TESOL convention and IC participation in the conference
    5. maintain an editorial team that attempts to present a variety of training approaches to IC in the field of ESOL
    6. produce an attractive, timely newsletter twice a year
