On July 16, TESOL staff, President-Elect Shelley Wong, and board member Brock Brady welcomed 16 teachers from Sub Sahara Africa; during their visit with TESOL they learned a great deal about the operations and goals of the association.
The 16 teachers, representing 12 distinct countries (Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Congo, Guinea, Madagascar, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal, and Togo), were visiting the United States as part of the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program; the trip was coordinated by the University of Buffalo.
The 6-week visit ended in Washington, DC on July 20.
