TESOL and JNCL-NCLIS Express Concern Over Florida ESSA Plan

by David Cutler | 08/21/2017
TESOL International Association and the Joint National Committee for Languages and National Council for Languages and International Studies (JNCL-NCLIS) recently wrote a joint letter to Florida Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart, as well as Florida Governor Rick Scott, concerning the state's draft plan for implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the draft waiver requests that would accompany the plan’s submission to the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition to the joint letter, TESOL also submitted similar comments during Florida's open-comment period for their ESSA implementation plan in late July.
