Call for Professional Council and Convention Program Strands Volunteers

by Valerie Novick | 01/31/2018
TESOL International Association is currently seeking applications from members to serve on its Awards Professional Council, Conferences Professional Council (CPC) and in the newly created roles of convention program strand coordinator and assistant convention program strand coordinator.

Serving in a leadership capacity for the association offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth and is one of the features of TESOL membership. TESOL members volunteer to help create and disseminate knowledge, to advise on programs and strategic initiatives, to influence public policy, and to maintain a strong organization. Through their membership in TESOL and volunteering, TESOL leaders play a vital role in supporting the work of the association, which could not be accomplished without their time and expertise.

The initial term for appointments to these professional councils is one year beginning in April 2018, with the option to renew for a full year at the end of the appointment. The maximum continuous service period is three years. To be eligible, you must be a member of TESOL International Association in good standing.

The term for convention program strand coordinators and assistant convention program strand coordinators is two years beginning in April 2018.

To learn more about the role and function of these professional councils and strand coordinators, and to apply online, please visit the TESOL website.

The deadline to apply is 18 February 2018.
