More about this seminar

Designing a Program to Meet the Needs of ELLs in Your District

This virtual seminar will provide information to districts who are receiving English language learners for the first time or who are experiencing significant increases. The legal requirements for servicing ELLs will be presented, which will include placement, staffing, and program design. Suggestions will be offered for material selection, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.

Although the seminar addresses the legal requirements for schools in the United States, it provides suggestions for program design, classroom instruction, and monitoring student progress that are relevant to elementary- and secondary-level English language teaching programs worldwide.
