How to Register for and Access TESOL Seminars (Pre-registration and Late Registration)

TESOL encourages all participants to pre-register.  Pre-registrants receive access to both the live event and the playback version.

If you miss the pre-registration deadline, you can still register (see instructions for late registration below). Registration remains open for three months following the live event.

Pre-registration: How to register for and access the live event and playback version:

  1. Pre-registration deadlines (normally 2-4 days before the live event) apply for each seminar.
  2. When you register online for a seminar (see the list of currently available programs, above), you will receive a simple confirmation of receipt of payment/registration e-mail, confirming that you are registered for the program.  If you need additional confirmation, contact TESOL at edprograms@tesol.org.
  3. TESOL will send an e-mail to all pre-registrants 2-3 days prior to the live event, providing you with login instructions (the Web site URL, username, and password you need to access the live event).  If for any reason you do not receive that log in information (your work e-mail system or Yahoo or other e-mail account may not recognize TESOL as a known sender—make sure to check your “junk mail” folder), please contact TESOL at edprograms@tesol.org or 703-518-2528 (make sure to state your full name and specify which program you registered for).
  4. About 15-20 minutes before the live event, log in to the seminar using the instructions sent to you by TESOL, launch the program, and then wait for the program to start. For enhanced audio quality, please use headphones or external speakers.
  5. The playback (or recorded/archived) version of the seminar will be available 2-3 business days after the live event, and remain available for three months following the live event.  To access the playback version, use the same log in information that TESOL sent you for the live event.  If you misplace your login information, contact TESOL at edprograms@tesol.org.

Late registration:  how to register for and access the playback version

If you register after the pre-registration date, you will only receive access to the playback (recorded) version of the seminar, and must do the following (in this order) to access the seminar:

  1. register for the seminar of your choice
  2. e-mail TESOL at edprograms@tesol.org to request access to the seminar (make sure to provide your complete name and specify which seminar you registered for). TESOL will then send you an e-mail providing you with the login instructions (Web site URL, username, and password) you need to access the playback version.

Features and Requirements – Pre-Event Computer Test

The technology platform for TESOL’s virtual seminars is made possible by Heinle, part of Cengage Learning, through their ELT Advantage Program.

TESOL’s virtual seminars are PowerPoint + audio (Web cast) presentations.

When you participate in a virtual seminar, you will watch and hear the presentation through your computer and post your comments and questions through a text box on the screen using your computer keyboard, like a chat session. All participants will be able to post questions to the presenters in this way.

Please review the following requirements for taking part in a TESOL Virtual Seminar:

Participants with very slow Internet connections or older computer systems may experience slight delays in download time.

Pre-Event Computer Test

Before registering for the upcoming TESOL virtual seminars please ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements to view the on-line seminars by clicking here to launch the automatic system diagnostic tool.

After trying the pre-event computer test, above, if you need assistance, please contact help@modevity.com.

Contact Information for TESOL Virtual Seminars
