The TESOL Symposium on ELT in Resource-Challenged Contexts, December 16-17, 2005, in Dakar, Senegal, drew over 200 African educators from 21 countries.  TESOL acknowledges with appreciation the support of TESOL's affiliate, the Association of Teachers of English in Senegal (ATES); the symposium sponsors, ETS TOEFL, The Seifert Fund, and the United States Department of State (Office of English Language Programs); and 49 individual contributors.
