PP 104: Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar Online

Prerequisite: PP 100

The course gives participants an overview of how blended or online teaching of vocabulary and grammar can be facilitated and enriched by the use of selected tools and resources. Participants actively engage in hands-on practice by creating online learning materials for students of different levels.

Topics covered

The course will be mostly based on practical hands-on activities, some required, others optional. Activities will be completed at the individual, pair, and group levels and will be based on

The course has been designed following a collaborative approach for the construction of individual and group knowledge. Active interaction and participation are fostered through the different activities since they are fundamental for this approach.

Dafne Gonzalez is a professor of EFL/ESP and  technology- and education-related graduate courses at Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela. She holds an MA in applied linguistics and a PhD in education. She is a member of the Electronic Village Online Coordination Team, teaches one of the TESOL Principles and Practices of Online Teaching courses, and is a member of Webheads in Action since 2002.


About TESOL's Principles and Practices of Online Teaching Certificate Program

TESOL's Principles and Practices of Online Teaching Certificate Program is designed for the experienced and the inexperienced online English language teacher and course designer. The program consists of certificate foundation and completion courses and ten courses in general and content-specific topics.
