Degree Offered:  Distance Diploma in TESOL.

Length of Program: 3 semesters. Students may be full-time or part-time and may begin the program at the beginning of the fall, winter or spring semester.

Program Requirements: 360 hours. A minimum of 15 hours of observation and 10 hours of practice teaching are required. Neither a thesis nor a comprehensive examination is required.

Courses Offered: (*required) *Foundations for TESOL; *Teaching Grammar; *Teaching Listening and Speaking; *Teaching Reading and Writing; *Teaching Pronunciation; *Practicum.

Admission Requirements: A university degree is required to enter the program. Original university/college transcripts or an official evaluation of overseas transcripts are required. Nonnative speakers of English must have a TOEFL CBT score of 250 (iBT 89 with 23/30 on speaking), or an IELTS Band 7, with pronunciation 8/9.

Tuition, Fees, and Aid:  For domestic students, CAD$ 2,435; for others, CAD$3,640.

General: This program has been developed for those wishing to complete their TESOL credential by distance education. It is tailored so that students can take the whole program (including the practicum) from home. The 25 hour practicum component provides an organized practice teaching session, supervised by a sponsor teacher and the program coordinator.  The entire program is available through distance learning. Students join a distance class and are able to communicate with the instructor and other students through an on-line portal.
     The institution has an intensive English program for non-native speakers.
