Degree Offered: MA in TESOL.
Length of Program: 4 semesters. Students may be full-time or part-time and may begin the program at the beginning of the fall semester.
Program Requirements: 40 credits. Competence in another language is not required but candidates need to have 12 credits of a language other than English to meet NYSED requirements. 100 hours of observation and 6 credit hours of practice teaching are required. Neither a thesis nor a comprehensive examination is required.

Admission Requirements: The university requires two letters of recommendation, a minimum 2.75 GPA and an autobiographical essay. Nonnative speakers of English must have a TOEFL score of 550 (CBT 213).
Tuition, Fees, and Aid: All students, US$650 per credit plus registration fees. Teaching assistantships, personal loans, New York City Board of Education, Cohort Model Building Bridges, Scholarship Program in TESOL and Math or Science awards are available.
General: Adelphi's TESOL program is offered at the Manhattan Center on Saturdays and Garden City campus on weekdays. The program leads to a state credential in TESOL.
None of this program is available via distance learning.
The university has an intensive English language program for nonnative speakers.
