Degree Offered: MAT in ESL.
Length of Program: 2 semesters. Students may be full-time or part-time and may begin the program at the beginning of any semester.
Program Requirements: 36 credits. 75 hours of practice teaching is required for ESL endorsement and certification. Competence in a language other than English is not required. Neither a thesis nor a comprehensive examination is required. A scholarly paper is required.

Admission Requirements: The university requires a Bachelor's degree with an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 and a GRE or Praxis for U.S. students. Nonnative speakers of English must have one of: a TOEFL score of 500 (CBT 170) and a TSE of 60; an IELTS score of 5.5.
Tuition, Fees, and Aid: All students, US$270 per semester hour. Fees are application, US$25; technology, US$65; international student fee, US$125. Graduate assistantships are available.
General: This is a summers-only program with small classes and a friendly, supportive environment. The program leads to a state credential in TESOL.
Opportunities are often available to teach abroad for a summer or semester (e.g., in Russia, Korea or China).
Elective credits, practicum, and the scholarly paper requirement can be completed via distance learning.
The college has an intensive English language program for nonnative speakers.
