Degree Offered: MS in TESOL.

Length of Program: 4 semesters. Students may be full-time or part-time and may begin their study at the beginning of the spring or fall semester.

Program Requirements: 36 credits. Competence in a language other than English is not required for native-English-speaking students. Practice teaching is not required. Admitted students must choose between the option of taking the TESOL MS comprehensive exam or writing a thesis. If they choose the comprehensive exam, the required total credit hours will be 36. If they choose to write a thesis, the required total credit hours will be 33.
 
Courses Offered: (*required) *Linguistic Analysis; *TESOL Methods; *Second Language Acquisition; *Modern Syntax; *Modern Phonology; *Sociolinguistics; *Research in TESOL and Applied Linguistics; one elective from the following (directed elective): Second Language Testing, Second Language Composition, TESOL Practicum; two electives from Education Plus; one elective from another field or the list of possible directed electives.

Tuition, Fees, and Aid: For in-state students, US$3,270 per semester; for out-of-state students, US$7,011 per semester. Fees are application, US$50. Graduate assistantships, scholarships and financial aid for US citizens are available.

General: We are a well balanced program with courses in theoretical and applied linguistics and language teaching. Currently, we offer TESOL graduate students a choice to complete the requirement of the TESOL Practicum course in South Korea.
     None of this program is available via distance learning. 
     The university has an intensive English language program for nonnative speakers.
