Degree Offered: Interdisciplinary PhD.

Length of Program: 8 semesters. Students may be full-time or part-time and may begin the program at the beginning of the fall semester.

Program Requirements: 60 credits. Competence in a language other than English is not required for native English speakers. Practice teaching is not required. A thesis and a comprehensive examination are required.

Courses Offered: (*required) *Theories and Research in Second Language Teaching and Learning; *Second Language Acquisition Seminar in Phonetics Quantitative Option; *Quantitative Analysis I: Regression and Analysis of Variance; *Introduction to Graduate Research; *Research Design and Methodology; *Qualitative Research Theory and Design Educational Setting; Part 1 Qualitative Option; *Quantitative Analysis I: Regression and Analysis of Variance; *Introduction to Graduate Research; *Qualitative Research Theory and Design Educational Setting; Part 1 *Qualitative Data Collection and Analysis in Educational Settings; Part 2 *Dissertation (12 hours) Dissertation Curriculum and Instruction.

Full-Time Staff: Michael Wei (program director).

Admission Requirements: The applicant must have a 3.00 cumulative undergraduate GPA and 3.5 graduate GPA. Five letters of recommendation and a statement of intent are required. Nonnative speakers of English must have a TOEFL score of 580.

Tuition, Fees, and Aid: For in-state students, US$336 per credit; for out-of-state students, US$773 per credit. Some graduate research assistantship positions are available.

General: The program has a recently revised curriculum and courses are research-oriented.
     None of this program is available via distance learning.
     The university has an intensive English language program for nonnative speakers.
