Interest Sections (ISs) are special interest groups within TESOL that connect members based on professional areas of interest. Interest sections referee proposals and other events for the annual convention, publish periodic e-newsletters, may have web areas, and host electronic discussion lists (e-lists).

A topical electronic group (e-group) is a virtual meeting place for individuals within the TESOL association who share an interest across other, usually much larger, member groups. Until now, groups sharing a clearly defined professional interest might only meet each other for a few moments at a convention presentation. Electronic groups based on themes or issues within the profession can now reach across geographic and procedural boundaries, allowing members to discuss their topic or specialty throughout the year.

Every TESOL member is encouraged to join one primary interest section. Members may add additional interest sections at no cost by logging into the TESOL web site, selecting My Communities, and reviewing options available to you. If you are a current member and are not sure to which IS(s) you may belong, log in to the TESOL Web site and click on "My Communities."

Members must be subscribed to an Interest Section in order to access the links below.
