The TESOL Graduate Student Forum is a student-run conference held every year the day before the annual TESOL International Convention & English Language Expo. The forum provides a venue for master's-level graduate students to

  • Share their research results, teaching ideas and experiences, and teaching materials
  • Meet and network with graduate students and faculty from other universities
  • Participate in the TESOL convention without having to compete with experienced professionals for time on the convention program
  • Gain experience organizing a conference, adjudicating proposals, and other professional activities
Doctoral students have their own forum, called the Doctoral Forum.

The 2012 Graduate Student Forum

The 2012 Graduate Student Forum will be held 28 March 2012, 8:30 am-5 pm, in conjunction with the 2012 TESOL International Convention & English Language Expo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Students at Southeastern Missouri State University and Iowa State University will referee submitted proposals. Students from Southeastern Missouri State University will also arrange the program and host the forum sessions.

Registration

Graduate students may attend the 2012 Graduate Student Forum for free, but all attendees must register. To register, fill out the registration form. All registrations must be submitted online.

Registration deadline: 15 February 2012.

Registering for the 2012 TESOL International Convention & English Language Expo does not register you for the Graduate Student Forum, and registering for the forum does not register you for the convention. For information on the TESOL 2012 convention, please go to the TESOL convention Web site. You do not have to register for the TESOL convention to participate in the Graduate Student Forum.

Submitting Proposals

The forum is open to students enrolled full or part time in graduate programs leading to a master's degree in TESOL (or related fields) at any institution of higher learning. You do not have to be a TESOL member to participate.

The organizers are soliciting papers, demonstrations, and poster sessions. For further information on submitting a proposal, including proposal guidelines, please read the 2012 Call for Proposals.

Deadline for submissions: 11 November 2011.

Notification of acceptance: 9 December 2011.
