2008–Present: Member

I joined TESOL, first as a graduate student, then as a new professional member.

2009–Present: Computer-Assisted Language Learning Interest Section

The Computer-Assisted Language Learning Interest Section (CALL IS) was looking for someone new to work on their website and I wanted to get involved in the association and the CALL IS, so I volunteered and have been working on their website since. As the webmaster for the CALL IS, I manage the CALL IS’s web presence.

2011–2014: CALL Interest Section Steering Committee

As a member of the steering committee, I helped oversee CALL IS's annual events and managed the Hardware Fair, one of the six events in CALL IS's Electronic Village. Serving on the steering committee helped me better understand the role of interest sections (ISs) in TESOL and take on a more active role in shaping my primary IS.

2013–Present: Electronic Village Manager

CALL IS provides two or three managers each year to help oversee the Electronic Village (EV) and Technology Showcase, CALL IS’s main contribution to TESOL’s annual convention. The managers support event coordinators and presenters to ensure that the EV runs smoothly.

2014–2017: CALL IS

While serving as chair elect of CALL IS, I helped to plan our InterSection Panels and Academic Sessions for the TESOL annual convention. As CALL IS chair, I played a vital role in choosing the proposals for the TESOL convention, and I ran CALL IS's annual business meeting. As past chair, I coordinate the Electronic Village and Technology Showcase.
