Katherine Lobo, Candidate
TESOL Board of Directors, 2018–2021

Katherine Lobo, Newton South High School, Newton, Massachusetts, USA, is a 2010 candidate for the TESOL Board of Directors. If elected, she will serve from 2018 to 2021. More information is available below the video.

Candidate’s Statement

Membership engagement and being responsive to the evolving needs of the membership are the burning issues in TESOL today. As a leader in TESOL, I am committed to supporting high quality and relevant professional development and networking opportunities for the professional community in order to better support our students.

TESOL’s Board of Directors needs to make careful and financially sound decisions for the future of TESOL. My perspective as a full-time classroom teacher of English learners, an adjunct professor of pre-service teachers, and the current Chair of the Conference Professional Council overseeing the 2018 TESOL Convention prepares me well to assume a further leadership role in TESOL as a member of the Board of Directors.
