Call for Online TESOL Course Developer

TESOL International Association (TESOL) is seeking applications for an English language teaching expert to develop one or more self-study courses for K-12 teachers with English learners in their social studies, mathematics, and science classes. The course(s) will provide strategies for addressing the unique needs and challenges that English learners have in content classes. The contracted developer may be contracted to develop one or more courses based on expertise.

Required qualifications:

• MA TESOL
• Experience designing online teacher training courses (online certificate program experience not required, but a plus) 
• Teacher training and training development experience
• 5 years K-12 ESOL teaching at the middle/secondary school level
• Experience teaching or co-teaching science, math, and/or social studies at the middle/secondary school level
• Knowledge of Content-Based Instruction / Content Language and Literacy Integration in both U.S. and EFL K-12 settings.
• Knowledge of Differentiated Instruction and Universal Design
• Experience working with content area teachers of English learners

The incumbent will work closely with the professional learning department in order to ensure that the new course(s) adhere to TESOL’s policies and standards for design and content. This project is expected to be completed by summer 2020. An honorarium will be provided.
