TESOL Endorses CCCC Statement on Second Language Writing and Writers (December 2010)

At its recent meeting, the TESOL Executive Committee agreed to offer TESOL’s endorsement of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) Statement on Second Language Writing and Writers (2009). The statement discusses the impact of second language writers in institutions of higher education across North America, and provides guidelines for instructors of writing and writing-intensive courses, for writing program administrators, and for teacher preparation. The statement is a revision of a similar statement that TESOL had endorsed in 2001, and was revised with input from TESOL’s Second Language Writing Interest Section.
