Phonics-Toon, My Fin is Fine

Resource Description: Phonics=Toons (PT) is a series aimed at gapping the digital divide. PT work best as an enhancement resource that can be used in/out of the classroom. My Fin is Fine, enriches students use of  CVCe/CVC vowel 'i' words. Attached is the PDF version preview, it lacks many pages due to the limitations of PDF. The toon can be watched on their phones and pads, while they are on the go or at home.
Audience: Elementary
Audience Language Proficiency: Intermediate
Duration: 15 minutes
Materials and Technology:

A Projector is needed to view the toon in class or a pad/mobile phone is required to view the toon out of class. 

Additional Suggested activities: 1. Have students list all the pairs of CVCe/CVC words. Ex:fine/fin

2. Have students look up vocabulary words they don't know like (tripe)

Objective(s): This is a reading enhancement activity. The purpose is to provide level appropriate materials for ESL and Young Learners. It is a tool to practice CVCe/ CVC vowel 'i' words. It is designed to help students practice long and short vowel 'i' words in a fun method. Students today don't use books, PT is designed to create Phonics content that fits the mobile and technologically savvy lifestyle of our students.
Outcome(s): Students will polish their skill of identifying, decoding and pronouncing CVCe and CVC vowel 'i' words.
Activity Description:

1.Use a LCD projector and click on link or save tube the video to avoid internet disruption. Watch and read collectively.

2. Have students list all the pairs of CVCe/CVC words. Ex:fine/fin

3. Have students look up vocabulary words they don't know like tripe. (optional)_

4. Provide students with a link of the Phonics-Toon, My Fin is Fine. Encourage students to watch My Fin is Fine outside of the classroom to reinforce and enhance their ability to read CVCe/ CVC vowel 'i' words properly.

5. Read with a Smile!

Steps 1 and 2 can be bypassed and go direct to Step 3 depending on your class' needs.
