TESOL on a Budget
Although your boss might see attending the convention as an expense, you can show her how you can help minimize the costs:
- Consider sharing your hotel room with another attendee. Check with your colleagues to see who else is attending. You can also send an email message to the groups you belong to in MyTESOL inviting others looking for a roommate to contact you.
- If you become a member for $98 and you register early (by 1 February 2019), you can get the member registration rate of $365. The nonmember on-site registration rate is $875, so you’ll save $510—and you’ll get TESOL member benefits throughout the year, including free webinars and discounts on books and other professional development opportunities.
- Are you a student? If you qualify for the Student membership, your dues would be $35 and your early registration rate would be $175. You’ll save $485 off the nonmember rate or $190 off the member rate. To see if you qualify for student membership, visit the TESOL membership page.
- TESOL offers a discounted rate for a group of three or more attendees from the same institution. Each registration will be $330 if everybody is a member. That’s a $35 savings for each registration.
If you do the math, you'll see that can attend TESOL 2019 and save in the process. If you have any questions about TESOL membership or the convention, please contact TESOL Member Services.
