The Affiliate Network Professional Council (ANPC) annually organizes activities at the TESOL Annual Convention for members of the Affiliate Network to share expertise, learn, and network with each other. When possible, materials shared at the convention will be made available after the event via the Affiliate Leaders' Online Community.

Session Description

Descriptions will be updated as the content of the 2020 sessions is finalized.

  • TESOL Leadership Forum: An invite-only session that provides leaders an opportunity to learn more about the association’s initiatives, projects, and activities. Leaders from TESOL’s Professional Councils, Communities of Practice, and Affiliate Associations are brought together to hear an update from the Board of Directors and exchange ideas about TESOL International Association’s strategic direction.
  • Affiliate Leaders' Workshop: A half day workshop focused on best practices of running an ELT association and topics effecting ELT associations. Recent themes include: advocacy, volunteer management, member engagement, and leadership.
  • Affiliate Assembly: The official business meeting of the TESOL Affiliate Network. The assembly focuses on the relationship between TESOL and the affiliates.
  • Affiliate Communication Workshop: A two hour, peer-led workshop explores best practices in methods of communication among association memberships. The workshop is structured to be interactive and encourage the sharing of ideas. 
  • Affiliate Colloquium

    Teacher associations around the world are adapting to the changing times. Technology, online communications, moving populations, and other factors are affecting the way associations respond to these changes. Utilizing experts from within the affiliate network, this colloquium provides insights on how TESOL affiliates can get support for their needs.
