TESOL International Association co-signs amicus brief in support of DACA and DAPA

by John Segota | 03/09/2016
TESOL International Association has joined 76 other organizations in co-signing an amicus brief in support of the proposed expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) in the United States. The amicus brief is being submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court for the case United States v. Texas, in which Texas and 25 other states are seeking to halt President Obama’s executive actions on immigration, including the expansion of DACA and the new DAPA initiative.

If implemented, both the DAPA and the expanded DACA program would provide deportation relief and provide work authorization to more than 4 million individuals, including many who are parents of US Citizens or lawful permanent residents.
