TESOL Call for Volunteers

by David Cutler | 08/26/2016
TESOL International Association is an organization of volunteers, so its success depends upon the initiative of leaders to share their vision for the field, stay informed on trends and concerns, inform others, and generate interest and collaboration among members.

TESOL members volunteer to serve the association, to create and disseminate knowledge, to influence public policy, and to maintain a strong organization. In maintaining membership in TESOL and volunteering in various capacities, TESOL leaders are imperative to the work of the association, which could not be accomplished without their time and expertise. Serving in a leadership capacity for the association offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth and is one of the benefits of TESOL membership.

The list of available leadership opportunities includes:

Serve on the 2016–2017 Standards Professional Council
Serve on the 2016–2017 Professional Development Professional Council
Serve on the 2016–2017 Publishing Professional Council
Serve on the 2016–2017 Research Professional Council
Volunteer to be an Interest Section Leader

Appointments to Professional Councils are for one year beginning on 1 November 2016, with the option to renew for another year at the end of the appointment. The maximum continuous service period on these Professional Councils is three years. To be eligible, you must be a member of TESOL International Association in good standing.
