TESOL International Association recently supported a number of biliteracy policy recommendations that were sent to the U.S. presidential campaigns of both former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.
The policy recommendations, drafted in coordination with the
National Association for Bilingual Educators (NABE), are supported by ten English language education advocacy organizations. These proposals highlight the importance of supporting English learners and biliteracy efforts across the United States, and include appropriating additional federal funding for Title III of the Every Student Succeeds Act, improving educational equity, securing access to online learning for English learners, and more.
