The 6 Principles Workshop

Are you ready to elevate your English language teaching program and improve outcomes for your learners? Join us for the transformative The 6 Principles Workshop, a cutting-edge professional development opportunity designed for all English language educators passionate about delivering impactful language instruction.

The 6 Principles for Exemplary Teaching of English Learners®

TESOL International Association has defined a core set of principles for the exemplary teaching of English learners. The 6 Principles (6Ps) are universal guidelines drawn from decades of research in language pedagogy and language acquisition theory. They are targets for teaching excellence and should guide any program of English language instruction:

  1. Know your learners.
  2. Create conditions for language learning.
  3. Design high-quality lessons for language development.
  4. Adapt lesson delivery as needed.
  5. Monitor and assess student language development.
  6. Engage and collaborate within a community of service.

In this one-week, 7.5-hour live workshop, you will be provided with the necessary knowledge and tools to integrate The 6Ps into your teaching context. Throughout the workshop, you will have time to ask questions and discuss how you will apply what you've learned.

This online workshop takes place 6 May-10 May 2024 from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EDT each day.

Miss a session or want to review the material? All sessions will be recorded and available on the TESOL Canvas platform for participants for one month following the workshop.

Once you complete the workshop, you will receive a digital badge you can share online. An electronic certificate of completion can be provided upon request.

To use as a handy reference, you will receive an e-copy of The 6 Principles Quick Guide
