The association is restructuring its governance
as a result of the Governance Review
that was conducted in 2012-2014. As part of this new structure, the number of standing committees will be reduced to six Professional Councils and three Governance Committees.
Effective 8 April 2016, TESOL will launch six Professional Councils that will provide professional expertise to help advance the Association's strategic objectives and activities. Made up of TESOL members, Professional Councils supplement or complement the practical work of the Association.
Three Governance Committees are responsible for critical areas of governance within the Association. Members of each of the Governance Committees serve by virtue of being elected to their position.
Call for Volunteers
The Association will have an annual call for members to serve on Professional Councils. In most cases, the call for volunteers will be held in August, with volunteers serving 1 November–31 October.
