by Jeff Hutcheson |

In a letter sent to congressional leaders in both the House of Representatives and Senate, TESOL joined 123 organizations in a call for historic funding levels for K-12 English learners (ELs) in the United States.

Title III of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which is the main source of funding for ELs in the United States, is set at $831 million for FY 2022. The letter signed by TESOL calls on Congress to allocate $2 billion in FY 2023 in order to meet the needs of ELs in schools throughout the United States.
