TESOL International Association (TESOL) is announcing a professional development program: The TESOL Blended English Teaching Certificate Program for State Government Teachers India, sponsored by the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi.

The new program for mentors at secondary government public schools builds on previous programs that have served teachers in the state government schools of Delhi, Telangana, West Bengal, and Karnataka. According to TESOL President Joyce Kling, this program expands to the states of Punjab, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, and will be offered to additional participants in Telengana.

“Mentors will cascade learning to their peers in the school systems,” Kling said. “Over the last five years, cascading professional development from these programs has reached more than 10,000 teachers.”
