TESOL Hosts National English Learner Roundtable

TESOL International Association hosted the quarterly meeting of the National English Learner Roundtable (NELR), Monday, 24 August 2026. The NELR brings together over 20 organizations representing English, bilingual, and multilingual educators serving multilingual learners of English in U.S. public education. 

The meeting convened around building federal capacity and support for English learners, with a special focus on technical assistance for educators and civil rights for learners and their families. In attendance were representatives from UnidosUS, NAELPA, NABE, MPI, CGCS, and more, including three former directors of OELA.
