Enroll in Module 1: Introduction to AI Foundations, Prompting, and ChatGPT

In Module 2, discover how AI is already built into everyday tools and how "invisible AI" shapes writing, thinking, and instructional design. The first part of this module discusses different tools with built-in AI features, including Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Gmail, and PowerPoint. You'll then focus on Microsoft Copilot as a tool to support lesson creation and classroom planning while keeping student voice and creativity at the center.

You'll also have opportunities to reflect on how automation affects your design flow, instructional decisions, and sense of authorship, then share your own Copilot experiment in the discussion forum.

In Module 3, learn how to use AI to adapt instruction for diverse learners while keeping lessons aligned to clear learning goals.

During the module, you'll experiment with structured prompts, explore templates and models, and share your own differentiated designs in the discussion forum. You'll also learn AI planning techniques for responding to different levels of student readiness and interest.

  • How frameworks like CEFR, WIDA, and GSE can inform strategies for adapting lessons

Module 4 focuses on how to use advanced AI tools to support research, summarizing, and content creation while helping students think critically about information quality and accuracy. 

What you’ll explore: 

  • How to differentiate between AI frontier models and API wrappers
  • How to choose and adapt AI tools that center learning, ethics, and student agency
  • How to use and evaluate AI tools like Perplexity and NotebookLM for research purposes
  • How to help students think critically about AI-generated information 

After this module, you’ll be able to evaluate AI tools and guide students in using them to support inquiry, comprehension, and responsible practices. You'll also be able to use try out different tools and share your insights in this module's discussion forum.

In Module 5, learn how emerging “agentic” AI systems work and how they can support more interactive, adaptive learning experiences. This module focuses on how agentic systems can move from content generation to task execution and instructional design support.

  • How agentic systems may transform teaching and learning design  
  • How to use Claude and structured prompting to build instructional agents, lessons, and interactive tools
