TESOL Joins Coalition for the American Dream, Commemorating 10 Years of DACA, Submits Letter to Senate and House Leaders in Support of Legislation to Make DACA Permanent

by Jeff Hutcheson |

TESOL joined the Coalition for the American Dream in submitting a letter to ranking members of Congress, calling for the passage of legislation making permanent the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), protecting hundreds of thousands of Dreamers whose home is the U.S. The letter, signed by over 35 associations and businesses, highlights the contributions of Dreamers and their challenges.

TESOL encourages the passage of the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021 (H.R. 6) and Dream Act of 2021 (S. 264) legislation that provides pathways to citizenship for DACA recipients who arrived to the U.S. as children or young adults.

This legislation is one of the priorities that we will take to the Hill next week during [TESOL’s 2022 Advocacy & Policy Summit.][1]
