AI in Action: A Four-Part Webinar Series for PreK–12 Educators

TESOL International Association is excited to present AI in Action: Tools for Teachers, Skills for Students, a four-part webinar series for primary and secondary educators exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping the classroom, how students can use it well, how to protect academic rigor, and how teachers can put it to work in their own practice.

AI in Action will give educators the opportunity to explore artificial intelligence in depth, examining how thoughtful, intentional use of AI tools can strengthen learning, remove barriers, and free teachers to focus on what matters most: their students.

Between 6 October and 27 October, the series will bring educators together for four live webinars. Each date offers a morning and an evening session, so participants can join whichever time fits their schedule. Facilitators will guide participants through practical strategies and real classroom examples across two themes: students and AI, and teachers and AI.

The Series at a Glance

Part 1: Skills for Students, Responsible AI Use in the Language Classroom

Help your students use AI as a learning partner, not a shortcut. These two sessions explore how to teach AI literacy alongside English proficiency, building learners' judgment about when, how, and why to use these tools.

• Getting Started with AI and Student Learning: Understanding what AI can and can't do for language learning, and setting classroom norms for appropriate use
• Guiding AI Use in the Classroom: Practical strategies for teaching students to use AI for drafting, revising, and practicing English without shortcutting their own learning

Part 2: Tools for Teachers, AI in Your Daily Practice

Get hands-on with the AI tools already reshaping lesson planning and instruction. Each session focuses on practical, classroom-ready applications. Bring an existing lesson plan, worksheet, or assessment to adapt live.

• AI Tools for Lesson Planning: Using AI tools (like ChatGPT and Claude) to design and level classroom materials
• AI as a Professional Partner: Using AI tools for materials, feedback, assessment, and differentiation

Each session is offered twice: a morning session (8:00–9:30 AM ET) and an evening session (7:30–9:00 PM ET).

Who should participate?
