A speaking and peer assessment activity on deduction and speculation forms.

Objective:
  • To revise and practice deduction and speculation forms. 
  • To give peer feedback.

Outcome:
  • Students will be able to make deductions and speculate about situations.
  • Students will be able to provide peer feedback and learn from each other. 

Activity Description:

-Before the lesson, the teacher creates a Padlet page.

-The teacher shares the Padlet page link or QR code of the Padlet page with the students. 

-The teacher has students work in groups of 3 or 4.

-The teacher shows the students sentences on which they are supposed to make deductions.

-Teacher asks students to share their deductions and speculations on Padlet.

-Students choose the most creative group by voting on the sentences. The teacher also gives feedback on the sentences if the forms of the sentences are incorrect.
