Activity Description: This activity is a speaking activity on different festivals, celebrations and special days/events.

In order to engage students and create interest, the teacher shows some pictures and wants students to find some more related to their own cultures.

The focus is to make students talk about the festivals in their own culture. To do this, the teacher first shows a picture from his/her culture and talks a little bit about it. Then s/he asks the students about theirs. How often/Where do they celebrate it? What do they do on that day or week? etc.

Then the teacher gives 3-5 minutes for the students to prepare to talk about the festival that they choose. After that s/he puts the class in groups. In online class s/he sends them to the breakout rooms and asks them to talk about the festivals in their own culture using the pictures that they have found. At the end of the activity, the teacher asks the groups about the festivals and tries to find out which one is the most interesting for them.
